Well transferring files from BlackBerry to Palm isn't as difficult as you might think. They operate on different operating systems, but that doesn't mean you can't use your same contacts, calendar entries, tasks, and memos from the Blackberry on the Palm. There is a two step process to moving your contacts and other files from Blackberry to Palm. You need BlackBerry Desktop Manager, Palm Desktop, and Microsoft Outlook on your computer to do this.
Connect BlackBerry and Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Open up Microsoft Outlook before you do the BlackBerry to Palm transfer. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer via your USB cord and load up Blackbery Desktop Manager. Click "Synchronize" and place a check next to "Synchronize organizer data." Click "Synchronization" under the "Configure" drop down on the left-hand side then "Synchronization" on the next screen. Here you can select all of the items that you want to sync with your new Palm device (calendar, tasks, contacts, and memos) and select "Setup" to choose to add the information to Microsoft Outlook. Click "OK" then click "Synchronize" on the left-hand panel again. Once more, you have to click "Synchronize," this time in the middle of the window to start the process. Allow the program to finish copying the data to Outlook and safely disconnect the BlackBerry cell phone from your computer when it's completely finished.
Connect Palm and Download Palm Desktop Software
Now you have to go through a similar process with your Palm. Connect the Palm to your computer via USB and load the Palm Desktop software (see "supporting links") that corresponds with your Palm device. Continue through the Palm data assistant wizard to grab the data from Outlook and upload it to your Palm. Your BlackBerry to Palm transfer is complete.
