How to Treat Acne

There are so many types of acne products and brands on the market today, that someone who's looking for help to control or treat their acne have a hard time choosing what is right for them!

Ninety percent of these products claim to do wonders for people with acne, but sometimes they can do more damage then good.

So many of you will ask where to begin, what to use, or how to choose what brand and what product!

Well, lets start with how to treat acne if you have dry skin on top of the acne.

Your skin care routine should at least include this items:

Cleanser: something that is made for dry skin, that has moisturizing qualities, you don't want something that will be dry out your skin even more!

Toner: Make sure you find one that is specifically for acne! Warning: It will be very drying so you will need to offset this with a good moisturizer!

Moisturizer/Lotion: As always use a daily facial lotion (with an SPF). If you need more intense moisture on patches of your skin, then purchase a heavy cream type moisturizer, but only use it on the drier spots!

* One thing you do not want to use would be any type of acne-cleansing pads; these are too harsh for your already dry skin!*

Now onto oily skin with acne:

You can use any acne cleanser, including cleansing pads! You could even use them twice a day!

You can use a light weight moisturizer, to keep your skin from becoming dry due to the cleansers.

You can even use a toner to help cut down on the amount of oil on your skin.

Another thing that you should try would to be using the blotting papers for oily skin made by Johnson and Johnson Clean and Clear, these can be purchased at Wal-mart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Kmart, Rite Aid, for roughly $6.00! These are great for people with oily skin. By removing the oil from your skin it gives your pores a chance to breath, in turn causing less pimples.

If you have very fair skin/sensitive skin then using some of these products that might cause your skin to turn red from chemical burns, if your skin is red and hot to the touch or itches, discontinue use of any of the products and then call to see your dermatologist, so they can figure out what you need to use on your acne! But ninety percent of the time your dermatologist will prescribe you something that is very harsh on your skin, but they know best so if you are having issues, please don't hesitate to ask your doctors for some advice or what to use over the counter!
