How to Treat Heartburn and Acid Reflux Without Medication

SDR2010

I am a person who has suffered from heartburn which means that I often suffer several times a week. Sometimes this is something that I experience every week, which means that I have had time to try all the famous medications. While some of the treatments worked well if I took them before I ate, I found that nothing stoped the heartburn once it had already started. With this being the case, I started to look into some methods to stop the heartburn. Here are some of the ways, which I found effective:

1) Pickles

I thought that this would be a food that would increase the amount of acid in my stomach, which would hurt, but I was given a pickle at a restaurant and found I did not have heartburn that night. Since then I decided to drink a teaspoon of pickle juice every day and I found that the heartburn, when felt, was less severe than I previously felt.

2) Sit up

Once of the big problems that I had is that I would get tired after meals and that there are not many chairs in my house and so I would go lay down after I ate my meals because this was the only place to sit. Well, this was causing the acid to rise up and made me feel like I could not hold the food down. I found that if you sit up or stand up for 30 minutes after you eat then you would not feel the acid in your stomach.

3) Salt Reduction

I decided to cut extra salt out of my diet, this means that when I am severed any food in a restaurant I will not add additional salt, which I usually do. This is because most restaurants serve bland food but I decided not to add more salt because of the fact that this increases the amount of acid in your stomach. It also gave me a burning feel that I wanted to get rid of so I stopped putting salt on my food and the heartburn went dramatically down almost to non-existent.
