1. Click on the Start button and click on the Control Panel.
2. Double-click Device Manager. Click Continue to gain access to the Device Manager.
3. Click on the + next to Mice and other pointing devices.
4. Double-click on Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad.
5. Click on the Driver tab.
6. Click Update this Driver.
7. Choose Search automatically. The Device Manager will access a variety of sites including Acer, Synaptics and Microsoft for mouse driver updates and patches.
8. Highlight the update and click Install. Click Finish when the installation is complete.
9. Restart the laptop. The laptop buttons should be working properly now.

i was rebooting my computer and when i got to dates and currency my arrow froze in the middle of my screen. and my computer will not shut off. what do i do

You can plug in a wire mouse or use the arrow keys to work around the frozen touchpad.
Wow WTF, you really shouldn't call names if you don't have a clue what you're talking about. You have a button fot Start, and can use arrows to navigate from there. Furthermore, before you start making comments on other people's education, maybe you should learn to spell.
Hey idiot, if the mouse button is frozen in the middle of the screen, then how are you supposed to follow your stupid instructions? You can't move the mouse, then you can't follow your instructions. I bet you went to a public schools in teh USA, correct?
