How to Turn Beer Green - A Guide
A Look at How to Turn Beer Green: A Much Easier Task Than Many Expect!
How do I choose a beer to turn green?
Before you turn your beer green, you must consider exactly what kind of beer you want to use for the occasion. One important thing to keep in mind is that lighter colored beers are normally better for turning green than darker beers. Lighter beers will take a small amount of coloring to make the lager fully green, while darker beers will take a great amount more coloring.
Now that you have your beer decided, lets turn your beer green! Here are two distinct ways you can go about doing this.
The first way is fairly straightforward and simple: add a few drops of green food coloring and stir your beer lightly. Start by adding three drops of food coloring and add one at a time. Count as you add the drops, so that if you want to make several cups of this green delight, you have the exact number of drops you need to average per cup.
In terms of the first way, I recommend that if you choose a light colored lager or a light beer, this is probably the best and easiest way to go about coloring your beer green. That was easy, wasn't it?
Here is a second way to turn your beer green.
The second way is a little more complicated and will require a little more food coloring, but the premise is the same. As a young child, you probably remember making colors out of the "base" colors: red, yellow, and blue. To make a strong, rich green color, you also have the option of mixing together yellow and blue food coloring to make a new green.
If you are going this route, start with two drops of yellow and two drops of blue, and add drops in one by one of each until you have the ideal green color. This is a great way to go about coloring your beer, as you are totally in control and have a wide range of customization when it comes to turning your beer the perfect green hue.
All in all, these are just two ways of going about a fairly simple task. Good luck making the best green beer out there!
