How to Turn Coffee Bags into Handbags

Amanda Abella
Everyone needs to have a coffee shop to call their own. A coffee shop where the barista knows their order by heart and where great ideas can come to them as they people watch. I just recently discovered my favorite coffee shop and not only do they have amazing coffee, they also know how to keep it green. This shop has anywhere from recycled cups to wall art that would have been trash otherwise.

So I'm sitting outside this coffee place trying to work on my thesis and I start staring at a wall full of coffee bean bags. Not anything special, just bags from all over the Americas mounted on the wall. My brain starts jogging as I just sat there and wondered what else could be made out of these awesome bags. I mean, after all, people go through coffee as much as they go through underwear so they must have some bags laying around. Naturally I did what anyone in this tech savvy world would do: I googled it.

I typed in "recycle coffee bean bags" and a plethora of nofty things came up! One of my favorites was a recycled coffee bean bag and duct tape tote. Let's say you have three two pound coffee bags lying around. With this you'd be able to make a decent sized tote bag. Now all you would need is to find some fun colored duct tape andvoila in about an hour and a half you can be the proud owner of one hip tote bag.

This is especially perfect for because there is absolutely no sewing required. Additionally, you have a wide array of designs to choose from. Coffee bags often have amazing designs and duct tape comes in a variety of funky colors nowadays.

If you would like instructions and pictures on how to create a coffee bag tote bag then I suggest visiting Dollar Store Craft. Their instructions are easy to follow and they provide a multitude of other fun projects to try out.
