How to Turn an Internship into a Job

Christina Armani
The first step to turn an internship into a full time job is to get an internship in a field that you love. If you have an internship in a field you don't want to pursue, you're just wasting time. Once you have an internship in a field you love, show your boss how passionate and excited you are about the work you're doing. After all, employers want employees who are driven and dedicated right? One way to show your interest and passion is to ask many questions. Don't worry about being annoying, your employers and colleagues know you're new to the field and have a lot to learn. During your internship you need to get to know as many people around you as possible. Once people get to know you, you'll have a group of people who will find it hard to part with you.

The best way to get a full time job out of an internship is to act the part. If you seriously want a full time job at the company, you need to act like you are a part of the company. This means following company dress codes, work hours, and codes of conduct. It's important to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times if you want to be seen as a legitimate hiring candidate. Finally, do favors for your colleagues whenever you can. Asking them to recommend you for a job is asking them to do you a favor. Your colleagues will be more likely to do you a favor if you've already done one or more for them. Best of luck and happy interning!
