Wrought iron pieces usually come in black. A few can be found in white. Even rarer are decorating items made from the material in other colors. This is done through specialty paint, which you can buy yourself if you wish to transform all of your different-colored wrought iron pieces into the same hue. Another option is to mix them together throughout your home or room for a more eclectic look. It is not difficult to do so as one of the main interior design tricks, if colors don't match, is to group like materials together.

Step 1: The easiest items to incorporate into your room will be the ones that have an obvious spot Decide where to put your main wrought iron decorative pieces first. This will be easy for items such as chandeliers that must go on the ceiling.

Step 2: Bring in your other large pieces, such as wall art. These bigger items will become main focal points so try out different spots in the space before deciding a permanent spot.

Step 3: Bring in your smaller items and space them evenly throughout the space when mixing two or more wrought iron colors for decorating to create symmetry. Place a black candelabra in the fireplace or on the mantel, for example and then make sure to place matching candle holders on the coffee table that is in the direct line of site of it.

Step 4: Replace clear glass with colored to tie in different hues around the room

Step 5: Add decorative items of other materials to tie in any color that there is not enough of. For example, place colored glass sconces in your black pieces.

Step 6: Bring in simple items to add splashes of color. Candles come in all different shades and can tie together two or more wrought iron colors instantly if alternated between them. For example red candles can be placed in black candle holders and black in red.

Step 7: Add small touches to existing pieces to add splashes of color. Hang prisms from lighting fixtures or even small snips of ribbon or trim.

Finish off the room by hanging up artwork that depicts decorative wrought iron pieces such as paintings or photographs. Decorating with images can mix two or more colors in interior design.
