For people interested in Chinese Astrology, many follow their zodiac animal's personality, however, there is also another factor, which is attached to their animal, and that is their fixed element. Elements (Earth, fire, water, meal, wood) are directly associated with a person's given animal based on their birth year. The article, How To Get In Touch With Your Chinese Zodiac Animal's Personality (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/588485/how_to_get_in_touch_with_your_chinese.html), provides an introduction to the animals of the Chinese Zodiac and allows for readers to get a glimpse of how their Chinese Zodiac animal has specific personality traits. After reading the above article, a person will know how their animal may influence their personality. Now, it is time to take it one step further and see what personality traits are contributed by their fixed element.

As a reminder, here are the different animals and their respective years in which they occur. Remember your animal is the year in which you were born, and those people born in the month of January (and sometimes the first few days of February) should refer back to the previous year before their birth.

Rat - 1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008

Rooster- 1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

Dog- 1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

Now that you know your animal, it is time to see which ones are grouped together and share the same element. Find your given animal and see which element you are.

Fire - Snake, Horse, Sheep

Water - Pig, Rat, Ox,

Wood - Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon

Metal - Monkey, Rooster, Dog

Once you know your element, now here are the associated personality traits that go along with each element.

Fire - People born under the fire element are natural-born leaders. You always tend to never be alone, as people always want to be around you. New adventures excite you because you know that you will always be in charge of the task. You are always very passionate in all of your relationships, especially love, and have a tendency to always speak your mind.

Water - People born under the water element tend to be the peacemakers of the group. While you may have your own agenda, you listen quietly to the concerns of others, and calmly try to persuade them to see your point of view. People always want to be in your presence, as you are known for treating others well. Make sure not to seem too passive, as sometimes your calmness can make you a target for others to try to take advantage of you.

Wood - People born under the wood element are always looking to take on new tasks and expand their minds. You accept others for who they are and are very non-judgemental. Sometimes, though, in social situations you may blend into the crowd and become unseen. Express yourself so that your voice is heard and your inner strength is revealed.

Metal - Those born under the metal element definitely have two sides. In public, you wish to be seen as the person who is successful and doing well for yourself. However, in private, you wish to be secluded and are perfectly content in your surroundings, as long as they are of comfort to you. Try to take time to balance your success with your personal life and remember that everyone can not conform to how you think they should be; no matter how much they want to please you.
