He is the questing knight, with the highest of principles and his motivation is one of love. The above description describes a card, the vital element of which is love. When the Knight of Cups appears in a tarot spread it indicates idealistic and romantic love, often with a successful outcome.
Symbolism in the Knight of Cups
In some decks the Knight wears a cloak that is covered with images of fish, the symbol of spirit, Christ and creativity. The Fish is also associated with the sign Pisces and the Knight of Cups rules from the 20th degree of the sign Aquarius to the 20th degree of the sign Pisces.
Prediction in the Knight of Cups
The querent's hopes are high and when this card appears, they will be able to achieve levels of understanding with another person which they have probably never experienced before.
Yet there could be some form of separation when this card is also linked with messages from afar. Suggesting that no matter how many miles might separate them, there is a strong feeling of togetherness with a certain special someone.
The Knight of Cups in a Tarot Reading
The Knight of Cups represents a practical man who is already part of the querent's life or who is about to enter it. He could have something to do with their job, or their personal ambitions. If they're working with him, then this card suggests that they will get on well and both will be pleased with their joint efforts.
While there is also the suggestion the person for whom this card has appeared should perhaps start thinking about the need to take a rest. They've been working hard and their health isn't as wonderful as it could be. They may need to take a break to recharge their dwindling batteries.
There may be a message winging its way in their direction and this may be some form of invitation or it may open up new opportunities in their life. If they have a secret that they want to share, then there is someone they can trust, according to this card, and they're being urged to get it off their chest.
The person they're thinking of confiding in won't let it go any further. The people they'll relate well with at the moment will be those who were born in February, March, June, July and November.
Advice in the Knight of Cups
There is a need to be polite and charming in all relationships now. Emotions experienced will be strong. This card represents love and creativity but there's also a danger of the querent spending too much time with their head in the clouds. They should enjoy their creativity and look for practical outlets for their wonderful imagination.
