How to Understand and Satisfy Your Customers on Restaurant City for Facebook

Brandon Miller
Customers are the most important piece of the Restaurant City puzzle. You can have the best ingredients, outstanding dinning area, and quick employees, but without customers it is just an empty building. In the game, customers are the primary source of income, gourmet points, and restaurant rating. Hopefully this guide will help you understand what your Restaurant City customers need and how to increase customer satisfaction.

Looking for a table - When your customer enters the restaurant, they will immediately look for a table. When they spot one, they will proceed to the table and take a seat. If there are no tables available, your customer will wait for a moment and leave if one does not become available after a few moments. You can tell that a customer is looking for a table because the table image in the customers thought bubble above their head.

Tip #1 - You can create a waiting area for customers who need a table. This will help to reduce the walk-out rate because of limited seating. Check our this article on tips for designing your restaurant to meet customers' needs for more details.

Dirty Dinning Area - In addition to looking for a table, your customers will also inspect the dinning area. If they determine the area is uncleanly, they may walk out. A banana peel in their thought bubble indicates that they are leaving because of a dirty establishment. It this happens, switch one or two of your employees to cleaning mode. You will also sometimes notice large food items setting on the floor. You can clean these up simply by clicking on them. Not only will this help keep the restaurant clean, but you will earn one coin for each item you pick up.

Dirty Table - Waiters are responsible for cleaning tables when a customer has completed their meal. When a new customer enters the restaurant, they will proceed to the nearest open table whether it is clean or not. The customer may choose to leave after sitting at a dirty table for a few moments. When this happens, the customer will show the image of a dirty, empty serving tray above their head.

Food taking too long - After your customer has sat down, you only have a short time to serve them their meal. If they are unhappy with the length of the wait, they will decide to leave. When this happens, you will see a covered serving tray and a clock in their thought blip.

Tip #2 - I have found that it is important to have more cooks than servers to handle customer demand. While there is no magic number, I have found that a 2:1 (cooks : waiters) ratio is fairly successful.

Eating their meal - Once the food has been served, it is all down hill from here. Your customer will chow down until all of their food is gone. Once they have completed their meal, they will then exit the restaurant.

Facilities - In later levels, customers will look for your restaurant to have certain facilities like toilets. If your restaurant lacks the proper facilities, it may hurt your customer satisfaction rating. However, customers will usually stay and eat a meal in the absence of these facilities.

Tip #3 - Toilets are very time consuming to possess since they need to be cleaned often. It is often necessary to remove an employee from their regular duties to constantly attend to the toilets. Hold off on installing toilets in your restaurant until you are sure that you can spare a crew member to take on these responsibilities permanently.

Restaurant Rating: Thumbs Up or Down - Why does all of this matter? Happy customers increase your rating and drive in more business. Poorly run restaurants will generate little traffic. You can see the rating for your restaurant in next to the thumbs up sign at the top of your screen. A perfect rating is 50, although a score between 20 and 30 is typical. If a customer leaves your restaurant for any negative reason, they will show a red thumbs down. This means that they were dissatisfied and your rating score will decrease by one point. The opposite is true for happy customers. Once a customer has completed their meal, they will show that they are satisfied by giving a green thumbs up. Your rating score is then increased by one point.

If your keep your customers happy, you will be very successful playing Restaurant City. Hopefully, this guide will help you determine how to best handle and serve your customers.
