How to Uninstall Applications on Your IPod Touch

Rachel Soden
IPod Touch applications are the software programs that make the device worth purchasing. Unfortunately, not all applications are created equal. Some iPod Touch applications are amazing with high technology special effects, multiple connectivity options and the ability to integrate with other applications. Other applications -- let's just say they leave a lot to be desired. They are hastily put together to generate revenue and are lacking in features and high in glitches.

If you have an iPod Touch application that you regret purchasing, you can uninstall it relatively simple. You can uninstall applications directly on the iPod Touch or you can uninstall using your iTunes software.

ITunes

Plug your iPod Touch into your personal computer using your iPod Touch USB cord. Open iTunes on your personal computer if it doesn't start up automatically.

Click on your iPod Touch in the left column. It is located under the "Devices" header.

Click the "Apps" button on the top of the main iTunes window. Check the box next to "Sync Applications."

Remove the check marks next to individual applications in the applications list to uninstall them from your iPod Touch.

Press the "Sync" button in the bottom right corner of the iTunes screen.

iPod Touch

Push and hold any icon on your iPod Touch. The icons begin to wiggle.

Press the "X" button in the top left corner of the application you want to uninstall from your iPod Touch.

Press the "Home" button at the bottom of your iPod Touch to exit the wiggle mode.
