Making a ghost costume is almost too easy. After all, most people just cut a couple of holes in a sheet and put it over their heads. Don't use this old fashioned ghost costume idea. Give your ghost costume and upgrade with these ideas that will surely impress everyone with your creativity and ingenuity.
For this costume you will need a full bolt of soft tulle fabric; at least 10 yards. You will also need a white ribbons, a white outfit, and a pair of scissors.
Measure your body, from the top of your head to your knees. Multiply this number by two and cut lengths of fabric to match that measurement (twice the distance between your head and knees). Cut at least 4 lengths of fabric, preferably more.
Use a white outfit as the base of your costume. You can wear a white dress and leggings, or a sweatsuit, or even white jeans and a white tee shirt. If can be as fancy or as casual as you want. Consider putting white costume makeup on your face and white hair paint or powder in your hair.
Drape the tulle fabric over your head with the center of the length at the top of your head. Have the first level of fabric hang over your face, provided you can see clearly through it. Continue draping the tool over your head so that it hangs down to your knees on both sides, being sure to make a face opening. You don't want more than one layer of tulle in front of your face.
Secure the tulle fabric in place with a loosely tied ribbon or string. If you want to be creative, use a faux pearl necklace for a female, or a white tie for a guy. Your finished costume will be that of a very ethereal ghost. It will be pretty realistic looking outside at night.
