In The Saboteur, you play a mercenary in World War II Paris fighting against the occupying Nazi army. To acquire weapons, ammo, and vehicles, you must trade with a black market dealer using contraband that you find around the city. As you advance through the levels, bigger firepower is a must. Before you know it, you will need to upgrade your wimpy handgun for a rocket launcher or sniper rifle. Unfortunately, you will soon find yourself needing better gear only to find out that you are short a couple thousand contraband points.
Find a Nazi AA turret
Throughout the city, you will find numerous guard towers, checkpoints, and other Nazi structures. To take advantage of this glitch, you will need to find a guard tower that is equipped with a large anti-aircraft (AA) turret. Any of these AA guns will work.
Tip - You can purchase a city map enhancement from your black market dealer. This allows you to see where Nazi structures are located throughout the city. Structures will be marked with white diamond icons. Once the targets are destroyed, the icon will disappear. By destroying all of the non-AA structures, you will be able to narrow your search.
Take out the Guards and Surrounding Nazi Forces
There are almost always two guards on each AA post. Take the guards out with a sniper rifle from a distance if possible. Once the guards are dead, climb the tower and take control of the AA battery by approaching it and pressing the Y button. Once aboard the AA gun, scan the skyline and streets below for other Nazi forces. Take out any enemy that pose an immediate threat.
Rack up the Contraband Points
Now the easy part. Turn the AA turret toward the sky and look for any Nazi zeppelins flying low over the city. Once you have one in your sites, shoot it 7-8 times until it burst into flames. Turn to the left until you see another zeppelin. Destroy it. There are always three zeppelins. Once you have destroyed all three, continue turning to the left and you will see that the first one has regenerated. Continue turning to the left and destroy as many zeppelins as your heart desires. Each airship that you destroy is worth 50 contraband points.
While there is no limit to the number of contraband points that you can earn by using this method, it will take some time. It took me about 25 minutes to get 6,000 contraband points. However, compared to earning it the old fashioned way, this is the bee's knees. Enjoy!!
