How to Upload Digital Photos Onto a Computer
Getting Your Pictures Out of the Camera and into Your Life
Your camera should have come with the appropriate wires to connect the camera to the computer. Some even come with software to manage them but it will depend on the type you purchased. Either way hook up the wires and let the downloading begin! As soon as the computer recognizes the connection it will walk you through the transfer. I recommend keeping every picture you have taken at least long enough to view it on the larger screen of your computer monitor. From there you can weed out the bad ones and save what you will want to keep in a handy folder.
Great! Now you have the pictures saved and ready to do whatever you want with. But, what next? There are many things you can do with your pictures besides just view them. Keep reading for some fun ideas on what to do with yours!
Print. With the right printer and paper you can make hard copies of any picture you took in any size you would like. Gone are the days of having to develop, and pay for, an entire roll of film to get that one shot you want to frame. Now you can choose what to print and make it happen from the comfort of your own home.
Share. Did you capture some great shots of your sister-in-law at her wedding or want to share the latest pictures of your children with their grandparents who live 3 states away? No problem! You can either email pictures right from the computer or take advantage of the many photo sharing sites that have popped up. Just upload your pictures to the site and send the password to family and friends. Some even let you set your pictures up in a slideshow complete with music and words. Now what doting grandmom wouldn't love to receive that?
Give. Print pictures you have taken into calanders, shirts, books, or just frame them. They make wonderful gifts for those that you hold dear and can even help personalize your next family reunion. Most projects can be done at home on the cheap or for a little money (but a lot less effort) the photo sharing sites offer a broad range of options ready to ship out to you in very short time.
Keep. Create a desktop collage or slide show with your favorite shots so you have something special to look at everytime you fire up the computer.
Expand. Think beyond the computer and download some of your favorites to a digital picture frame. You can change them as often as you like and it's a great way to get the pictures out of the computer and into your rooms.
By now you should have liberated those pictures and be well on your way to making the most of them. Keep snapping away and building your collection. Nothing is more important in life than our memories, and what better way to capture them?
