You will need to create an account to use Photobucket.com. For the average user that just wishes to store and share photos Photobucket offers a free account. A free account will provide you with 500 Megs of storage and 10 Gigs of bandwidth per month. Pro accounts are available for users that need more storage and bandwidth.
You have many choices in uploading your photos with Photobucket. Once you have established your account you can begin to upload from your home page. You will see a box titled "upload images and videos". To the side of this are clickable sources. You may upload from your computer, a web URL, your mobile phone, e-mail and the "ASK" toolbar.
When using the upload images and video section you can use your CTRL button to select multiple items from the category you have chosen. You also have a "more options" link that will allow you to resize your images in 14 different available sizes. If you are uploading a video you can chose from standard definition or high definition resolution.
A bulk upload function is also available to upload large sets of photos at one time. Clicking this will bring up a sidebar that takes you to your computer data. You can choose to bulk upload from your desktop, a drive on your computer, your documents folder and other locations. If you choose this bulk function and click on your choice of locations, all images will appear on the right hand side of your screen. You are then given the option to select all or unselect all. You can unselect all and then click on only the pictures or documents you wish to upload.
When you have uploaded your images you can chose to save them in different albums that you create to organize them. You may also create sub-albums in your albums. You can create as many albums as you need and make them private, or public if you wish to share the contents. You may also add tags to your photos to include identifying information for your reference. Many more options will be available to you once your photos are on the site.
