Valentine's day is a fun holiday to show loved one's that we care and especially kids. Kids love Valentine's day, because of all of the candy and cards they get. Here is an idea for a candy Valentine's day centerpiece for your table.

HEART SHAPED BASKET: First you will need to get a red or pink, small, heart shaped basket. You could find these at most retail stores and especially at dollar stores. Then buy some foam to fit inside the basket, or that you can cut to fit into the bottom of the basket. The foam only needs to be 1 to 2 inches thick, depending on the height of your heart shaped basket.

FLOWERS: Next, you will need to get some faux roses. You could find these at craft stores, dollar stores, or retail stores also. You will only need about 5 to 10 flowers depending on the size of your basket. You will want the flowers to be tightly arranged into the piece of foam, so that you cannot see the foam in the bottom of the basket.

CANDY: Finally, you will need to get some chocolate candies. These are easy to find around Valentine's Day, since chocolate is the number 1 gift to give on Valentine's Day.

You will also need to get some skewers for your chocolate and don't forget your piece of foam for the bottom of the basket.

ARRANGE YOUR BASKET: Once you have all of the supplies you will be able to arrange your centerpiece Valentine's Day basket for your table. You can use a hot glue gun to hold all of the pieces in place if you wish. Simply cut the piece of foam down to fit into your basket, and secure it in place into the center of the basket. Next, start cutting the stem down to the desired length on your faux roses. Arrange them in a pink, then red, then pink manner. Cut the faux roses down so that they will be flush with the top of the basket when they are stuck into the foam. You can dab a tiny dot of glue on the cut ends of the faux flowers to secure them in place in the foam if you would like.

When all of your flowers are in place, then you can cut your skewers to length. You will want the pieces of chocolate to stick up above the roses, so cut the skewers so that they will stick up 1 to 2 inches above the flowers once they are stuck into the foam.

Once you have the skewers cut to size, start placing chocolate candies on them and stick them in between the roses. You, again, can put a dab of glue on the end of the skewer that will be going into the foam to secure it into place. Now your beautiful Valentine's Day centerpiece is finished.

You can use these for wedding centerpieces or Valentine's Day gifts for friends as well.
