How to Make Valentines Greetings Using Sweet Hearts

Sarah Holmes
If you want to create cute Valentine's Day messages using sweet hearts, first take a box of sweet hearts and empty them on the table. You will also need some decent card stock. Next, you will need markers or pens. You may want to buy smelly markers, or gel pens or calligraphy pens depending on the person you are sending the card to.

Now fold the card stock in two. Decorate the front of the card and create a message with the candy hearts. You can use clue or tape to stick the hearts to the card. You will now want to decide whether you are going to create the entire message from candy hearts or you want to use part hearts and part written text. Be sure to sign it and you may even want to make up a pretend greeting card company for the back of the card.

Now you can use glitter or colored paper or tinsel to create beautiful designs on the card. You may also want to consider a pop up card.

Be sure to allow the glue to dry before inserting into the envelope.

The most important aspects about a candy heart Valentine's day card is that it is from you, it is homemade and it is from the heart. Be creative and have fun!

Here are some additional things to consider when creating a Valentine's Day Heart card:

Include the kids. They love projects like this. They can design the cover and choose where to place the hearts. It can also teach early reading.

Consider making a card for a widow or a solider.

Use other candies to decorate the cards too. Licorace strings, gum drops, and sugar as glitter.

Give the card with a unique gift. You may want to give it with a box of chocolates, bottle of sparkling grape juice or cuddly teddy bear.

Use another larger piece of paper to create your own custom envelope. If you plan to mail the envelope, be sure to check to find out what the postal regulations are for envelope sizes.

Another option is to make the card exactly fit a priority mail envelope. The flat rate envelopes are pretty big so you will need a large piece of cardstock. The priority mail envelope will provide the needed extra protection for your handmade card.

For Easter, you may want to consider using Peeps.

Enjoy making these beautiful Valentines Day cards!
