How to View Hidden Comments on MySpace
You do what any smart, high school junior would do and beeline it onto MySpace. After all, if MySpace is good enough to catch criminals and reveal infidelities, it's good enough to find out if Mr. Wonderful is still hung up on Ms. Painfully Perfect.
Once you track down his MySpace profile, you scan it for any obvious clues - like a tell-all blog post where he tearfully professes his love for his ex, but thankfully his profile seems to be pretty neutral about his love life. So now what?
Well, the next step is to check out his MySpace comments. Unfortunately, it seems that Mr. Wonderful has added one of those MySpace codes to his profile where it hides his comments from the public eye. Another dead end. Or is it?
Lucky for you, hidden MySpace comments don't necessarily mean they're hidden from YOU. Now it's not always a sure thing, there is one case where hidden MySpace comments would be tougher to crack than the mystery of Paula Abdul's true mental state, but hopefully your crush's MySpace profile isn't one of those special cases.
So whether it's your latest crush, a friend, or your current boyfriends ex-girlfriend - here is everything you need to know to view their hidden MySpace comments:
1. In your web browser, open up your MySpace profile and the other person's MySpace profile as well.
2. Click on the "View All Comments" link in your own profile.
3. Toggle over to the other person's MySpace profile and place your mouse over that person's display pic so that their MySpace profile link appears (on bottom left-hand side of your browser). Write this 8-9 digit MySpace friend ID down somewhere.
4. Toggle back to the window displaying your MySpace comments and replace your MySpace friend ID with the other person's MySpace friend ID in the web address and hit Enter.
Keep in mind that this will only work if that person is still using a MySpace Profile 1.0 layout AND if their profile is public.
If you're using Firefox, you can use this shortcut instead:
1. Open up their MySpace profile.
2. Go to View in your Firefox browser and click on Page Style and change it to No Style.
This will display their MySpace profile without all the fancy layout options that people add to their profiles to keep certain things hidden. But again, this will only work if they are using a MySpace Profile 1.0 layout.
