This simple Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar is a great way to add some cute storage in a vintage bathroom, traditional bathroom, or even a kid's bathroom. I always come across set of Vintage Crochet Mallets and balls for about $30 at flea markets and yard sales. They are screaming to be made into something useful in the home.

If you can not seem to find Vintage Crochet Mallets and balls, then look for new wooden sets in the toy store. They are there if you look!

You can install this simple Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar in minutes and you can even let the kids help. Don't stop at just a Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar, you could also have a Vintage Crochet Mallet inspired shower curtain and even some Vintage Crochet ball bathmats!

To make this simple Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar you will need:

1 Vintage Crochet Mallet

Power Drill

½ inch drill bit

2 L Brackets

2 ½ inch wood screws

2 screws with wall anchors

Level

Duct tape

The first step is to lay your Vintage Crochet Mallet out on a flat work surface. I like to lay the "front" of the Vintage Crochet Mallet down. Now, lay a piece of duct tape across each end of the Vintage Crochet Mallet. This will hold it in place while you are predrill holes for the screws.

Drill each hole about 1/2 inch deep into the Vintage Crochet Mallet. Do not drill through the Vintage Crochet Mallet. You will need one hole on each end of the mallet. Make sure they are level, or it will make hanging the Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar difficult.

Now, install your L brackets on the Vintage Crochet Mallet. Use the short wood screws to do this. I find it best to leave the Vintage Crochet Mallet duct taped down. Use a hand held screw driver to slowly twist the screws in. Now, you want your L brackets to face down, so that when hung on the wall the Vintage Crochet Mallet is resting on top of the L bracket. Choose larger L brackets if you think you need a lot of space behind your towel bar.

Now, hold your Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar up where you want to hang it in the bathroom. Place a level on top to make sure it is level. Now, mark a dot through the L bracket holes. Predrill a hole into the bathroom wall for the well anchor to insert into.

Now, insert the plastic wall anchor. Hold the L brackets and Vintage Crochet Mallet in place, Use your hand held screw driver insert the matching screw though the L bracket hole and into the wall anchor.

You are finished! You can hang towels, hand cloths, and even magazines on this simple Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar.

For a little more fun and detail you could pre drill a hole in the end of the Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar. Slowly twist in a double ended screw. Now, slowly twist on a Vintage Crochet ball to the screw. You only need about ½ inch of the screw to attach the ball.

For added baseball inspired details in the bathroom try hanging two of the Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bars on the wall. Make one a little higher and little to the left on the wall. You can use at top Vintage Crochet Mallet towel bar for the hand towels and wash clothes.
