How to Make Vintage Postcard Ornaments

Pam Parent
Vintage postcard ornaments add an old-fashion touch to your Christmas tree. These ornaments look especially lovely on a Victorian Chirstmas tree. Flea markets and antique stores are a great place to find vintage postcards. This is a great craft project to do with your kids.

Vintage Postcard Ornaments

Supplies:

Vintage postcards
Paper punch
Thin ornate ribbon
Glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Christmas trim
Beads by the yard
Glitter

Directions:

1. Punch a hole at the top, center of each vintage postcard.

2. Glue the string of beads around the edges of the vintage postcards. Gathered lace glued around the edges of each postcard is another option, and a great compliment to a vintage-styled postcard. Choose a lace that is trimmed in gold for added pizazz.

3. If the vintage postcard has a border, place glue on the border, then sprinkle with glitter.

4. Thread the ornate ribbon through the hole of the vintage postcard. Tie ends into a bow, leaving a loop to hang the postcard on the Christmas tree. Cut off excess ribbon.

I love the look of these vintage postcard ornaments on a tree wrapped in white lights, and covered with mauve and gold ornaments.
