On January 22nd, 2011 the Birmingham City Commission will be holding their Long Range Planning Session. At this meeting, they will be deciding the long range plans for the city of Birmingham. At this meeting, decisions will be made as to where Birmingham should be in the future.

As residents of Birmingham, you have a chance to have your voice heard by the Birmingham City Commission before they hold their Long Range Planning Session. You have a chance to help them make their decisions as to where Birmingham should be a year from now, five years from now, and ten years from now.

Do you think that more effort should be spent directing business to the Principal Shopping District? Do you thing that the Birmingham City Commission should invest in a secondary shopping area somewhere in the city? Do you believe that Birmingham would best be suited as a technological hub for the area? Should the Birmingham City Commission consider creating a stronger historical district for tourism? These are just some of the suggestions that you could make, but the sky is the limit.

Below, I have linked the page on Birmingham's webpage where you can find the email addresses of the Commissioners that sit on the Birmingham City Commission. You can email them and give your suggestions. Make sure that you move quickly as the agenda will be finalized on the Friday before the Long Range Planning Session.
