We went on our honey moon last September. We went from Calcutta Ohio to Lusby Maryland which is about 300 miles. On our way there we filled up the car in Calcutta Ohio. We stopped in Breezeway Pennsylvania just to top the tank off so we knew we would not run out of gas. When we stopped there to fill up, the beetle was only at a quarter of a tank of gas.
So we filled it up the rest of the way and did not have to fill up again. From Breezeway P.A. to Lusby Maryland only took a quarter of a tank of gas.
So the whole way from Calcutta Ohio to Lusby Maryland only took us a half a tank of gas, which is amazing.
We went through 3 states on a half a tank of gas. I still cannot get over the shock of how little it took to get that far from home.
This car is a very good gas mileage car. Very good. With the way gas prices are these days you need a good gas mileage car. With gas almost $4.00 a gallon this car saves us so much money.
We also have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 which is always left parked in the driveway because we cannot afford to drive it often.
If people are looking for a very good gas efficient car, they will not go wrong with the Volkswagen Beetle. Like I said before they get 40 miles to a gallon on the highway and about 34 on non highway roads. It is a very good investment also with he way gas prices are too.
I purchased this car about a year ago and I tell you what I pat my husband and myself on the back for investing in this car. We travel some during the year and we were looking for a good car that would hold up to gas mileage.
With this car we did not go wrong at all. In fact we got what we were looking for. Not only does it have good gas mileage, it also saves us money a month in gas money.
So if you are looking for a good gas mileage car, my friends this is the car to buy. Trust me if it can go from Calcutta Ohio to Lusby Maryland on a half a tank of gas, then you cannot go wrong with purchasing one of these cars. Plus the other good thing about my car is it is a 5 speed. Which also helps on gas mileage too.
It is ok if you do not know how to drive a stick shift because the automatic gets about the same gas mileage as the stick shift so do not worry about that. You will still love the money you save on gas. No doubt about it.

Post a Commentwhat year and model Bug do you have? I drive a 2006 5 Cylinder convertible and my gas mileage has plummeted to 19 mies a gallon. I go 240 miles on a tankful...car used to get over 300 a tankful...husband thinks I'm crazy..I took it to the dealer and after keeping it all day they handed it back to me and said they drove it and got 40.4 MPG...I take it back continue to monitor carefully and it's only 19...do they think women are that stupid...I don't know how to convince people that there is a problem...
