How to Volunteer as a Couple During the Holidays

3 Easy Steps to Share Your Love with Others This Season

The more two people do to have fun together, the stronger the relationship becomes. Volunteer as a couple during the holidays to experience this first hand. Spend quality time together giving back to those who need more love this season. Help your bond as boyfriend and girlfriend grow deeper by helping others in three easy steps.

Pick Out Outfits to Get Into the Spirit of Things
The possibilities are endless here. You can transform yourselves into Mr. and Mrs. Clause, Santa and his helper or boyfriend and girlfriend elves. Other options include reindeer, angels or even a snowman and snow-woman. Be as festive as you want. The important part is you have to have fun with it in order to show others a good time. If one of you does not want to go the whole nine-yards in the dress up department, at least pick out some funny hats that reflect this time of year. At the very least, if you are going to be gearing up towards a more adult crowd, string some mistletoe from some plain red and green knit hats.

Rehearse an Act Together to Really Set a Festive Mood
Put your talents to good use when volunteering as a couple during the holidays. Become a duet and sing seasonal songs or have one play an instrument as back up to the other belting out the carols and hymns. If you're both lacking on musical talent, put together a comedy skit. Even old lame jokes, with a lot of expressive movements and facial expressions in costumes, can still make everyone laugh. It is the time of year to let go and embrace a childlike innocence again.

Take Your Duo On the Road
Call up nursing homes, hospices, shelters, group homes and hospitals to find out about coming in to do shows for patients. Talk to local businesses about donating toys, gift cards and other presents to pass out after the applause is through. Don't forget to bring a camera and video camera to capture the memories. Volunteering as a couple during the holidays may just become a yearly tradition for the two of you and even one that you can eventually pass down to your children in the future.
