How Warts Can Be Prevented and Treated Naturally

Mike Burnside
The common wart can appear on anyone at anytime. Warts are viral and therefore they tend to show up when we are overly stressed, much like a cold sore. The human papillomavirus is on of the causes for the common wart to pass from one surface to another. Many doctors will tell you that the two most common ways of treating warts are to either freeze them with liquid nitrogen or just leave them alone. In most cases, the common wart will go away on its own. That can take months and a lot of patience. However, there are a few natural remedies that can be taken to help prevent and treat the common wart.

Treating a Wart with Garlic
Professional herbalists have been recommending garlic as a classic herbal remedy for the treatment of warts for years. Take a small piece of fresh garlic and place it on the wart. Attach the garlic by using a small bandage over the wart. Continue this treatment on a daily basis until the wart is gone. For most common warts, this treatment could take up to a few months.

Treating a Wart with Greater Celandine
Greater celandine is an herbaceous perennial plant and a member of the Ranunculacae family. This is a topical treatment for the common wart and is commonly used for many skin conditions. Many health food stores carry greater celandine in a liquid form. By applying a drop to the common wart twice a day for a couple of month, the wart should begin to disappear. As with many treatments, the earlier you start to notice a wart and begin treating it, the faster the results.

Prevention of Warts Naturally
As mentioned earlier, a main cause of the common wart is stress. Most herbalists will recommend that you do three things to help prevent warts. First, find ways to reduce stress in your life. Second, take a long, hard look at your current diet. A clean, healthy diet is great prevention towards the common wart. Third, look to bolster your immune system. A compromised immune system is more susceptible to widespread warts. One of the least expensive ways to boost your immune system and avoiding warts is by adding nettle tea to your diet. Nettle tea leaves have high amounts of vitamins A, B, D, and K along with iron, magnesium, carotene, chromium, zinc and potassium, all vital to the immune system.
