How to Wash Your Face

The skin on the face is highly sensitive, it is thinner than the rest of the skin on your body, so when you wash your face, you need to take care that you are not doing more harm than good.

Before you even think about washing your face, wash you hands, use a gentle, but anti bacterial handwash.

Put you hair back away from your face with a headband or pins, you need to wash around the hairline, this is a place that collects sweat and dirt, so cleaning it is vital.

Wet your face with warm water, not hot water. Splash onto your face with your hands, make sure your face is thoroughly wet.

Apply a small amount of cleanser into your hands, gently smooth the cleanser onto your face using upward strokes.

Massage the cleanser using the tips and pads of your fingers, use small circular motions, be firm, but don't scrub or pull at the skin.

Leave the cleanser on your face for about a minute, this will really help it to dissolve any dirt, grease or make up that is left on your skin.

Use a warm damp cloth to help remove any cleanser from your face, wipe it over your face and rinse it in warm water, repeat until the cloth comes away clean.

Ensure that there are no traces of cleanser left on the skin, if there is soap or cleanser left on the skin, it can cause serious skin problems.

Face cloths should be washed every day, they are a major breeding ground for millions of bacteria that can be ruinous for the skin.

I enjoy your practical advice. I did not know that leaving soap residue on the skin could cause issues. Thanks for sharing. :)
