Rep = Repeat

Bet = Between

Sk = Skip

Cover:

RND 1: With yarn and H hook ch-96, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, sc in ea ch around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (96 sts)

RND 2: Sc in 1st st, * ch-4, sk next 3 sts, sc next st, * rep bet ** around ending with ch-4, sk 3 sts, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (25 loops made)

RND 3-24: Sc 1st st ch-4 lp(loop), * ch-4, sc next lp, * rep bet ** around ending with ch-4, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (24 lps)

RND 25: Work 5 sc in ea lp around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. (120 sts)

Finishing:

Slid the crochet piece over the outside of the wastebasket with rnd 1 at the bottom of the wastebasket and rnd 25 at the top. You will need to stretch the cover to get it to fit around the entire wastebasket. Glue to hold in place. You may want to use tape to hold the cover in place as it dries. Glue dots work well with this kind of craft.
