With this information we would know were to shop for his cell phone. This article will discuss how we helped my dad find a suitable cell phone.
Deciding on a Cell Phone Carrier: This decision was easy because my dad wanted to be able to call us for free. With this information in mind, we told him that it would be best for him to use the same cell phone carrier as we do, this way he would be able to call us without using any of the minutes in his plan.
Choosing a Wireless Plan: This was another easy choice because my dad did not want to spend too much money. This decision made him choose the least expensive wireless plan offered by the cell phone carrier.
Picking a Cell Phone: To help my dad pick a cell phone, we asked him what features he wanted in his cell phone. For example, did he want a camera, removable memory, a speakerphone, etc. We also asked him if we wanted a flip phone, a slide phone, etc. Once we narrowed this information down, we asked my dad how much money he wanted to spend for his cell phone. Before we went shopping for the cell phone, we went online to browse through the cell phones we believed my father would like to see at the store.
Going Shopping for the Cell Phone: We went shopping for my dad's cell phone at the cell phone store. At the store, we looked at the cell phones we believed my dad would like. After looking at several cell phone models, my dad decided to buy a very nice cell phone.
Getting Accustomed to the Cell Phone: After we got home, my husband read through the owner's manual for the cell phone as we charged the cell phone's battery. After the charge was completed, we showed my dad how to turn the cell phone off and on. We programmed the cell phone with the three phone numbers that my dad calls the most and showed my dad how to dial each of them. Next we told him how to place a call to a number that was not programmed in the cell phone. Now, we explained how to use the speakerphone feature to my dad. To help my dad keep track of the minutes he uses we also programmed the number for him to check his cell phone minute usage.
Mail-in Rebate: We filled out the necessary forms so that my dad would receive the mail-in rebate for his newly purchased cell phone.
We were glad that we helped my dad shop for his cell phone. Now he enjoys the convenience of having and using a cell phone.
