How to Make Wedding Centerpieces with Peacock Feathers

Beautiful Table Decor

Crystal Ray
I recently attended a wedding reception, and although the venue was not extravagant, the tables were nicely decorated. They were covered with black linen tablecloths and the centerpieces were designed with peacock feathers. I visually examined the table decor directly around me. It appeared that half of the tables were decorated differently, and they were not nearly as pretty as the centerpieces that included candles and mirrors. I do not have plans to hold a formal party in the foreseeable future let alone a wedding reception, but I know how I would have enhanced the existing table decor.

Mirror Trays, Floating Candles, Peacock Feathers and More

The wedding centerpieces on half of the reception tables were adorned with clear decorative bowls filled with iridescent plastic strands, floating votive cups and candles. The bowls topped octagon shaped mirror trays, and the peacock feathers were clipped just below their beautiful iridescent green and blue eye-shaped designs. It was pretty, but I would have added a few colorful additions.

To make vibrant wedding centerpieces with peacock feathers I would have added deep blue and aqua flat glass marbles to the clear bowls of water. The iridescent plastic strands would have still shimmered and shined in the candlelight. The marbles would have added far more color and intense visual appeal to the wedding table centerpieces while bringing out the beautiful hues of the peacock feathers. I also would have used blue or emerald green votive candles instead of white. The clear votives and holders that adorned the wedding centerpieces were visible. The flames did not appear to float on water, and the wax might as well have been colored to coordinate with the peacock feathers.

How to Enhance Clear Vases of Peacock Feathers and Pebbles

The other centerpieces at the wedding reception included peacock feathers, but they were not nearly as eye catching as the decorations that included mirrors and candles. The peacock feathers were the only source of color, and without the candlelight it was almost too dark to see in the dimly lit room. Three or four peacock feathers were placed in clear glass vases of natural pebbles. To make truly beautiful wedding centerpieces I would have combined the pebbles with colorful flat glass marbles or aquarium gravel. The added color would have given the display the vibrancy that it needed to make a truly grand impression.
