How to Make Your Wedding Personal

Your wedding is all about celebrating you as a couple, but celebrating does not necessarily mean being traditional. Great weddings can be different as well as being special. There are some simple ways to make your wedding all about you and your significant other.

One way to make your wedding personal is to change the time of day or even the day of the wedding. Having a brunch reception, or an hors d'oeurves reception can make your wedding feel more personal to both of you. If you met on a certain day of the week, why not get married on the day that you met. Besides celebrating your special day, these choices could also help save some money as well. I had a brunch reception for my own wedding and it made it extra special.

A wedding is all about the details. Having those details celebrate your love in a special way will make your day memorable. For example, instead of using a unity candle to signify the special moment, how about "tying the knot" with some shoes if together you are into sports. Instead of throwing birdseed or blowing bubbles, how about ringing bells, or tossing flower petals as you exit. I had flower petals tossed at my husband and me. I even had flowers float down from a ceiling fan as I was walking down the aisle.

One special way to make your wedding personal is for you and your fiancé to write your own wedding vows. Saying romantic words of what you feel to one another on your special day will bring wonderful memories.

Handmaking your wedding favors can make your guests feel special. I crocheted hearts as my wedding favors. My guests loved them. You can do chocolates.

Wedding website are also filled with ideas of ways to have a wedding on a budget, make it personal, more extravagant whatever the two of you are looking for. These are just a few suggestions for making your day special. In the end, how you choose to celebrate your day is what will make it memorable for you.
