How and Why You Should Get Your Man in the Kitchen

I love to cook. I'd do it every day, actually, I do it every day. But then, there are some occasions where I get my man in the kitchen and get him to cook. I have learned over the years that there are some things he is just better at cooking than I am. One way I keep getting him back into the kitchen is by reminding him how much I love the way he makes certain things.

Why would you want your man to cook? Why wouldn't you want him to cook? It gives you some time off from kitchen duty. You may even get to try something different. Or, you may be like me, and just enjoy his cooking. If it weren't for my man I wouldn't eat fish, but he makes the best fish and I always eat too much of it. If some time off isn't a good enough reason for you, maybe the fact that your man will feel like he is doing something special for you is a better one. It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day or your anniversary, maybe he just likes to cook and has a special recipe he wants to share with you.

There are a couple great ways to get your man into the kitchen, so to speak. One way is to cook together. We do that in our house often. I start with one part of the meal and he finishes it off with his own finishing touches. Or you could each work on a separate course. Guys love steak, so let him perfect the steaks while you make a nice healthy salad. This way you are working together and getting some bonding time in too!

The other way to get your man cooking is to mention the grill. Men love grilling. Buy some steaks or some ribs and send him on his happy way out to the back porch. He gets to grill up some tasty meat and enjoy some quiet man-time outside, while you can be in the kitchen working on the side dishes. Every man should have a grill, in fact, my man has two of them. We have a gas grill and a charcoal grill with a smoker. Nothing beats the taste of grilled meat, or corn on the cob, or even some potatoes.

If none of this works to get your man cooking then it means he doesn't know how to cook. Teach him. Make a romantic date in the kitchen and make something simple and sensual, like spaghetti. You can end your night like the spaghetti scene from "Lady and the Tramp." Enjoy!
