How, When, Why, What and Where?

Journey Through This Life

Catdog
NEVER GIVE UP! All of us have a calling in life. Patience is the key
to all our virtues and successes. We work hard, making tomorrow
better than we did today, and we WILL get rewarded in His time;
not ours!

Almost a year and half ago, I was in Arkansas somewhere balling
The pride I had retained in the Army; I thought was my real calling
Then the broken bones down one side shortened my one childhood dream
Unfair; shortened the career I thought to was my niche, it did seem
Asking frequently then, "why?."

Now I can say I understand Better things were ahead;
patience was part of His master plan
Packing up, moved far as I could from my childhood home
Two and half hours away, a drive I never venture or roam
Memphis looked good as I slowly branched out and in to
I instantly fell in love; a city exciting with so much to do
Until that one day, "the beginning" in October came
Quitting my job in November, Oh! I was in so much pain
Doctor's filled my weeks, always verily scraping by
Five months unemployed; the tears I cried. Why?

Enrolling in school for something to do; a change, I would earn!
Feelings of accomplishment, I was ready and eager to learn
It was my time to shine, "DANG IT!," shouting it clear
Finally growing up I would not put off another year
Then this office position I couldn't coordinate came
For a month, the staffing agency called my name
Timing and circumstances on both end weren't ever right
Calling clearer and clearer as each sun did set into night
To a position that screamed for me would inevitably have the Army beat
The same software, different name, no wonder the other's couldn't compete

Day two in this position, the CEO called me apart from my new friends
This is where we will stop right now, pull out, and your training ends
Gasping. You are much smarter and experienced compared to all of them
The days of being normal now. It's time they came to an end.

From the offices of the seventh to the main offices of the ninth floor
Off the elevator we stepped and headed toward a beautiful glass door
Facing an empty room; "The reason I show you this office space,
Dedication and drive is the only way to get into this kind of place.
This level is only for the top of the top leaders in our organization,
Amazingly I gazed at the beauty of this place; I felt pure inspiration

I know you have only worked here for a short time of two days now
With your experience and talents, you deserve to be extremely proud
Finding your calling, your niche, one day you will belong up here"
Emptiness in this room you might only envision for now, my dear
At the top, anyone can clearly see, this is where you were born to be
Here at last if you shall only reach and take from my hand the key

The "Data Analyst Department Manager"supervises the lower floors
Monday morning this office will be furnished. Congratulations! It's yours!

An organization, non-profit, paid by
the State of Tennessee, Seedco keeps track of everyone in the state
using any type of assistance from the state. These civilians in poverty
have five years all together in a lifetime to gain access to state help.
Seedco takes them and tracks, trains, and helps them to find better
employment, housing, and even small business loans. My calling,
my niche, my everything, I thought would never come, finally came!

And no, I will not quit writing, even at the top. Words are a love to me
as my readers are my inspiration through comments and their own
articles, opinions, and prose. If I can inspire one person only, I will
forever continue to write. I will not change who I am because I made
the top either. I have worked too hard, too long for everything and
everyone in my life to change that part of me now. I am who I am
and forever will be!

This is quite an inspiration for me. Do not ever change your priorities in life. You be just the way you are, you do things you want to...nothing matters more. Good luck hon.
