How to Win at Cafe World

Maximize Your Potential in This Facebook Game from Zynga

Olivia Cummings
Café World is one of many games on Facebook supplied by Zynga. In Café World you are the managing chef of your own café. You begin with a very modest café and can build up to a very large café complete with decorations, employees, exterior decorations and even your own catering business. You earn money by cooking and selling your dishes to customers. You earn Café points for each dish you serve as well as helping your neighbors.

As you acquire café points you level up. In early stages of the game you gain access to new recipes and can purchase additional stoves and serving counters as you level up. The more stoves you have the more you can cook and thus you earn more money and more café points. Certain other elements are also unlocked as you attain certain levels. The key to Café World is the ability to level up, and level up quickly.

The more neighbors (friends) you have the more you can earn. Every 24 hours you can visit each of your neighbors and help them in three ways, You can spice their food, conduct a taste test, and help them water the outside of their café. In the upper levels of the game you can earn 150 or more café points per neighbor per day. Obviously you want as many neighbors as possible in order to maximize your earning potential. Be certain to visit each neighbor every day to get your full point potential.

While neighbors are important, the bulk of your café points will come from the dishes you cook and serve to your customers. Each dish has a different cooking time, different cost to produce, a different selling cost, and a café point value. You will quickly learn all dishes are not created equally.

A mistake made by many players is to look only at the totals café points awarded for a dish. This can be very misleading. You should be comparing the café points per cooking hour in order to maximize your earning potential. Note: This is not listed in the game so you will need to make mental calculations, or create your own list of the best recipes. The shorter the cooking time the higher the point value. For example, you can earn 120 points per hour by cooking hot dogs. Compare this to 10.5 café points per hour for cooking a Crab Bisque and you can see the difference in earning potential.

In order to get the higher points you must be at your computer cooking almost full time since some of the shorter dished come off the stove in as little as three minutes. Obviously you cannot always do this, but when you can, maximize your earning potential by cooking hot dogs, burgers, chicken & fried, chips and French toast.

Overnight or while at your day job, consider the higher earning potential of dishes such as the Mystic Pizza, Vegas Buffet, and Angel Fruitcake. Good mid-term items are Lobster, Tamales, and Smoked Salmon. Don't be fooled by the total points awarded. You may be using your stove for the next 24 hours to produce only 10 to 15 points per hour. By watching the café points per cooking hour you can level up quicker, and more often.
