How to Win Sweepstakes and Contests

You Could Win Big!

Marie M. Daniels
You may, like many consider yourself unlucky when it comes to winning contests. I included myself into this group until very recently. Since then I have learned how to make myself lucky and you can too.

Sweepstakes and contests are similar to the lottery only because of the odds of winning. Some contests will have many entries and some will have much less. Right there, that is the key to the whole being lucky at winning contests or sweepstakes.

If you enter only 100 contests throughout your entire lifetime odds are you won't win much. On the other hand if you enter 100 sweepstakes in a month your luck will start to change. I know mine did. Thomas Jefferson once said, "I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have." Now entering contests and sweepstakes is not hard work, but you do need to take the time to enter if you want to be lucky and win at contests.

About a month ago I started entering contests. The first contest I entered was a local pharmacy with a giveaway drawing. I figured it wouldn't hurt to enter their drawing so I did. I got a call telling me that I had won something. Now the total value of the prize was only around $130.00. But there is just something about the good feelings you get after you win a contest. I have been entering and winning ever since.

It seems that I have caught the "sweeps" bug. I want to enter contests because I want to win more prizes, no matter how small the prize. So far in just over a month I have won seven prizes, at a total value of about $120.00. If things keep up at this rate I may have to pay taxes on my contest winnings for this year.

Here are a few things I have learned that can help you win more contests. You need to enter many contests to up your odds of winning. There are better odds of winning local contests, because less people are going for those prizes. Instant win game are fast and fun. The more prizes available the better chance you have to win one. There are some contests that you can enter daily, and every entry can bring you closer to a prize. Contests that have hourly prizes have great odds of winning. Contests with video or essay entry are easier to win, because that is more work than most people want to do.

You probably won't win every contest you enter. But you will have a much better shot at winning contests than Joe Shmo who doesn't' know how even out the contest odds. Good luck and happy winning.

I did this one year and won over 4,000 dollars in prizes. Video Camera, gas grill, two cameras, Omaha steaks, and so much more. You are right- it can work. I spent a lot of time entering. Good article!

I remember when my ex won a trip out to California to do a walk-on part on Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. It was the episode "Seven Kinds of Lonely." She told me she grabbed Joe Lando's butt. Baahahaaa.
