Lois Ryan
You are thinking about opening a storefront and become rich off of your customers. You have already decided what products you are going to be selling and have already planned to have a grand opening soon. You notice that customers tend to go in stores that have a display rather than one that has none. You already know that a store must have a window display to attract the customer. However, you windows stand empty; you do not know what you are going to use for a window display. You want to make it look interesting to the customers.

The best thing for you to do is to go to your local mall and see which stores the shoppers go in more often than others. Take a closer look at the stores that are doing business. Look at how the window displays are. Chances are it is the window displays that are attracting the customer's attention. Look around at all the window displays and see which onces caught your attention. Use these ideas for your own window display.

You notice that there are two women's clothing stores that are next to each other. The window displays both have manniquins that are sporting the latest fashions. However, one store is drawing more attention than the other. You take a closer look at the display and notice that the successful store has a bright and colorful background. However, what type of background is right for your store?

Since you have already defined the product that you are going to sell, you must also know who your target customers are. Let's assume that after your demographics study, you find out that your product is geared towards female teenagers, you can check out similar stores geared for teenagers. See how the window displays are and copy them with attention grabbing details. You can include in your window, posters of the latest teen heartthrob. Even though the products are not related to this icon, the display will grab the teens to come into your store.

A window display does not have to be drab and boring. This is a way to express your artistic side of you. A well thought-out and designed window display will catch the eyes of your potential customers and will help your store stand out from the others.
