How to use Windows 7 multi-touch technology
Even though multi-touch is a new feature for Windows based computers, it is really simple to use. You will need a touch screen computer to use this technology. In Window 7 you get finger friendly icons for the start menu and your favorite setup programs. You can click on a program or menu item just by tapping lightly on it. To select a particular file or folder, you just need to place your finger on it. To right click on an item, touch it with a finger and tap the screen gently with a second finger. You can also zoom the screen by placing two fingers on the screen and spreading them apart. Apart from these regular features, you can also use the multi-screen technology to move forward and backward in applications, scroll through the documents, drag files and even rotate views in certain applications.
The possibilities with multi-touch technology are endless. Microsoft has really put a lot of effort in making the multi-touch technology as user friendly as possible. For instance, the buttons available in Windows 7 are wider so that they can be used with fingers. Apart from that, the applications have been optimized for multi-touch technology. For example, the Media Center is fully compatible with multi-touch technology and using it with fingers is a breeze. You can also do lot of other things such as browse through files and folders, move between photo albums and browse online using just your fingers. You can also type on the screen by using the onscreen keyboard.
If you have used touch functionality in mobile phones or PDAs then you will immediately feel at home with the Windows 7 multi-touch technology. Even if you are new to using touch functionality, it is really easy to get going with the Windows 7 multi-touch features. By using multi-touch features, you can interact with your computer faster and get results quickly. And once you are used to multi-touch technology, you wouldn't want to use your mouse and keyboard again!
