Paint Your Window Sills
The first thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is paint your window sills. Buy an inexpensive can of paint that is the color of your windows sill or a new paint color and add two coats, wait a day and then paint your window sills with a paint sealer paint, twice over before letting it dry a day or two.
Wash Curtains
The second thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is to wash your curtains. Take your curtains down and wash them, twice, before ironing them and hanging them back in your window. An added touch is to change your summer window curtains for heavier fall curtains, if so still wash them before hanging them.
Clean Windows with Windex
The third thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is clean the windows with Windex. Spray the windows with Windex and wipe with a paper towel, at least twice, three times a week. Do not do this on the outside of the windows. For the outside windows something else.
Line Windows Against Cold
The fourth thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is to line windows against the cold. You can buy winter window lining at your local hardware store, and it is as simple applying as following the instructions. Do this with all your windows, it will help to keep cold air from seeping into your home and save on household heating bills.
Wash the Outside Windows
The fifth thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is to wash the outside of your windows. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and 2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid and spray the outside of your windows and wipe with a white cloth before wiping with a paper towel, repeat. Follow these steps twice a week, for two weeks before and after putting up your Christmas decorations.
Wipe with Lemon Juice and Warm Water
The sixth thing you need to do to get your windows ready for Christmas decoration is to wipe your window with 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of warm water, once a week, repeat three times. Wipe window with a white cloth. The added sparkle will help even more catch the sun rays as they enter your home, adding warmth.
