Many people love the warm weather and count the months until Spring and Summer return. Others enjoy each change of season, but count Winter as their favorite and most looked forward to season of the year. The brisk weather, the beauty of a snowstorm and the festive holidays that accompany this time of year are some of the reasons why people consider Winter the most wonderful time of the year. The Winter lover in your life may also enjoy the slower pace, and more time spent indoors enjoying their favorite crafts. This article will offer some fun and practical suggestions on how you can easily create a Winter Lover's Craft Basket for that special person in your life.

Receptacle: The traditional route when creating a gift basket for a loved one is to choose a decorative wicker basket in which to store your gifts. This is always acceptable and makes a lovely presentation, but there are many other options to choose from. Since this gift is for someone who loves all things Winter and particularly the time to enjoy their favorite crafts, consider a gift "basket" that will serve that person well. A canvas tote in which to hold knitting or crochet supplies and works in progress, a plastic storage tote with removable dividers to hold scrap booking or stamping supplies or simply a large wire basket to hold firewood are all unique twists on the traditional gift basket.

Gifts: Once your choice of gift basket is complete, you can begin loading it up with fun and useful gifts that are just right for the recipient. Include pretty and fun supplies that the winter craft lover can use during the season according to what their craft of choice is. Yarn and needles is perfect for the knitter or crocheter, as packages of card stock, colored pens and stickers is right for the gift recipient who loves scrap booking. Ribbon, miniature wood decorations and artificial flowers will be much appreciated from the gift recipient who loves wreath making. You can also include some supplies that pertain to a different craft that your friend or relative has expressed an interest in trying. You can round out your gift basket items with seasonal items such as cozy socks, a set of gloves, scarf and hat and a tin of gourmet coffee or tea. You can line your gift basket with soft white cotton to replicate snow or a fleece throw blanket or sweatshirt to nestle the gifts.

Finishing Touches: Wrap your gift basket in clear or colored cellophane and tie it off with a pretty ribbon in a seasonal color such as gold, silver or red. Include a card that wishes your gift recipient a very lovely season and many happy hours spent crafting away.

Surprise that Winter craft lover in your life with this personalized gift basket that will surely offer them many hours of quiet contentment while those cold winds blow.
