Winter Snowman Wreath Chair Arrangement
Supplies:
Small unfinished wooden chair (approximately 36" in height)
Gray paint
Black paint
White paint
Paint brushes
Tin snowman star ornament
Scissors
Checked bow
Eucalyptus
Glue gun and glue sticks
Pine cones
Dried florals matching the checked bow
Small tarp
12" grapevine wreath
Faux snow
Directions:
Chair - Place the wooden chair on a small tarp. Make sure that you paint the chair in a well ventilated room. Paint the chair one side at a time. Begin by painting the bottom of the chair gray. Before the gray paint drys, pour a few tiny drops of black paint on the gray paint. Gently rub it into the gray paint with a clean paint brush. I also have placed black paint on the tip of my fingers and gently rubbed it into the gray paint until small black streaks appeared. This gives the chair a weathered look. Let dry. Once that section of the chair is dry, continue painting the chair following the previous instructions. If you don't want a weathered look, paint the chair a solid gray or in another color you prefer.
Winter snowman wreath - You can purchase a painted snowman tin star, or buy a plain star and stencil a snowman design on the star. Paint the edges of the pine cones white. Let dry. Wrap the hanger of the star through the top, back of the wreath. This will also be the hanger of the wreath. Glue the checked bow to the bottom of the wreath. Glue eucalyptus on the top of the bow, and throughout the bottom of the wreath. Glue the pine cones and florals throughout the bottom arrangement of the wreath. Make sure the dried floral colors are evenly distributed throughout the arrangement. I also like the look of faux berries added to this winter snowman wreath.
Decorating the chair - Hang the winter snowman wreath to the center, front of the chair. Place faux snow to the corner edges of the seat, and faux snow can also be placed on the undecorated part of the winter snowman wreath. Use the seat of this chair arrangement as a unique way to display a dish of candy or fruit.
The website www.factoryflower.com offers the snowman painted stars needed for the winter snowman wreath. They offer a two star snowman assortment for $3.75.
