How to Make a Witch Costume Hat

A witch hat is a very popular choice to add as an accessory to a costume, especially at Halloween when witch costumes are really popular.

It is not difficult at all to make a witch costume hat and learning how to make a witches hat is simple and easy to assemble. A wonderful witch costume hat can be made in no time and these easy to follow directions will be a cinch to follow.

The materials needed to make the witch costume hat are as follows: 2 large sheets of black construction paper or heavier type paper, tape or glue.

The witch costume hat directions are as follows: Cut out a large circle from one piece of the large black construction paper, the height of the witch hat will depend on the size of the circle. The larger the circle, the taller the witch hat.

Cut a slit up to the middle of the circle and shape the circle into a cone, tape the ends together. If there seems to be an excess of construction paper, try cutting a slit up to the middle of the circle and then cutting out a triangle shape to remove some of the excess construction paper.

Place the bottom of the cone on the other black large construction paper and trace around it. Trace another circle around the cone but this time moving about 2 or 3 inches out depending on how large you want the witch hat brim to be. Cut out the circles so that you now have a brim for your witch hat. Tape the brim to the bottom of the cone to make a fun and festive witch costume hat!
