How to Make World Cup Party Invitations #1: Soccer Ball Invitations
The most obvious choice for an invitation is to make a soccer ball. It's quick and easy and will get the point across as to what your party is about.
What you'll need:
White poster board
Black marker
Yellow Marker
Pencil
Scissors
Party info printed out on a piece of paper from your computer (optional)
Glue (optional)
Putting it together:
First, you'll want to use your pencil to draw large circles on your poster board. These are going to be your soccer balls. Try to make them the shape of an actual soccer ball. If you are worried about the size of your invitations, hand them out in person or mail them in a manila envelope.
Cut the circle from the poster board. If you're going to write your information by hand, then make a rectangle shape in the middle of the soccer ball with your black marker. Use the yellow marker to make a gold trim. If you'd rather not write by hand, print out your party info from your printer and cut it so that it will be in a square or rectangle shape. Carefully glue it into the center of the invitation and make a black and yellow trim along the edges. Let dry.
Take your black marker and draw a soccer ball pattern all over the front of the invite. Once you've done that, color in black spots to mimic the look of a soccer ball. Use the black marker to circle the edge of the soccer ball so that it will look neat.
How to Make World Cup Party Invitations #2: Flag it Up
The World Cup is an international affair. Use flags from all the countries that participate to make your invitation really pop.
What you'll need:
White or yellow poster board
Glue
Computer printout of world flags (like the ones here)
Computer printout of a soccer ball (found here)
Scissors
Black pen
Putting it together:
First cut your poster board into regular rectangle size card shapes. Cut the flags out from the paper and carefully glue them along the top and sides. If there is more flags left over, glue some along the bottom but leave the center bottom free.
Glue the soccer ball at the center bottom of the card and let dry. Now you can write your party details in the center of the card. You can also print the information for the party from your computer and glue it in the middle, just be sure you let the glue dry before sending or giving out the cards.
