How to Make a Wreath-of-Wildflowers Bulletin Board

Pam Parent
The wreath-of-wildflowers bulletin board is beautiful and functional. It will add beauty to an office, bedroom or any room it is displayed in. It is a pretty way to keep all your important messages organized. This wreath bulletin board can also be used to make a collage of your favorite photos. The possibilities for this bulletin board are endless. You can also choose a different style of silk flowers if you prefer. I personally love the look of wildflowers like daisies, black-eyed Susan's or baby's breath.

Wreath-of-Wildflowers Bulletin Board

Supplies:

18 inch grapevine wreath
Few stems of silk wildflowers
1 yard of satin ribbon
Glue gun and glue sticks
Sheet or roll of cork board
Marker
Pins
Craft or razor knife
Scissors

Directions:

1. Place your sheet of cork board on a hard surface. Place the grapevine wreath on top of the sheet of cork board. Trace around the outside edge of the wreath. Using your craft knife, carefully cut this circle out from the cork board. This piece will be used when the bulletin board is ready to be assembled.

2. Wrap the ribbon under the top of the wreath, and so that one side of the ribbon is on the front and the other side is at the back. Make sure both ends of the ribbon evenly match up. Tie the ribbon into a bow. Trim ribbon ends. This will be the hanger for the wreath-of-wildflowers bulletin board.

3. Place the wreath front side down. Carefully pull up the ribbon bow so that it is in hanging position. Put a generous amount of glue around the edge of the cork board circle, then place it on the back of the wreath. Go around the edge of the cork board and spot glue between the wreath and cork. This will help to ensure that the cork board is securely glued to the wreath. When you turn the wreath over the bow hanger should be glued under the cork board for added stability.

4. Lay the wreath cork board front side down on a covered work area. Take the silk flowers off their stems. Glue the silk wildflowers around the entire front of the grapevine wreath. Glue a few of the wildflowers to the center of the bow hanger. Make sure to evenly glue the different styles of silk flower throughout the front of the grapevine wreath. I like to add silk greenery throughout the flowers, and a faux butterfly or bird also makes a nice touch to the wreath.

The website www.amazon.com offers rolls of cork board for $8.99. The Dollar Store or Walmart are great places to get inexpensive silk flower stems or bushes.
