How to Write Accomplishing Articles

Rosa Hayes
I don't know of one writer who doesn't want to perfect his/her work to the best of their ability. I have done this through time and yet my work is still no where near perfect, but I am trying to get there. I believe that if you put your mind to it then you can accomplish anything.

When you write an article or a story, you should have a purpose behind it. You should always be able to let the reader know exactly what they are in for when the read the first paragraph. Always try to keep the reader's attention, otherwise your article was a waste of time.

If you are unable to keep their attention then the entire purpose of what you had written will be soon forgotten. You want it to jump out at them. You want the article to stick in their heads.

There are a lot of people who write to just be writing. These articles are useless and most of the time they do not draw a very good point to what you are try to get across to the reader. I know that page reviews count for a lot but anyone can get numerous page views just by posting their articles all over the place or by using key words repetitively. I know better than to do this but if you must, then don't drag the story out just so that you can make sure that there are one hundred key words on your article.

Key words are great but when the reader has to read three pages to realize what you are talking about, then you had already lost them. Articles are generally between 400 and 900 words long. The reason for this, short and simple is better than long and drawn out.

I usually try to make my articles around 600 words long. I have noticed that you get paid more when your article is longer but you don't want to make it too desperately long.

I can always tell a good writer when I see one. A good writer will always catch my attention with just the abstract. Once I start reading further though, if the writer can't keep up with me then I will be long gone and on to the next articles.

I have noticed that most audiences love facts and percentages rather than fiction. When there are facts added into the article it brings more meaning to it because it either once happened or is happening. Fiction on the other hand, will draw the reader to imagine more but when they want to know something that important to them then it is better to give facts.

Every writer knows that you can write about anything as long as you start off on the right foot.

My daughter often tells me that I need to read more books. She likes to read but I can't find the time to do it. Maybe, this should be one of my New Year's resolutions.

Writers have a vast audience, each with their own life experiences and values. While it is impossible to grab the attention of all the readers in the world, it is important to grab and maintain the attention of the ones that chose to read your article. Good job.
