How to Write an Author's Bio that Will Draw Clicks

Article marketing is one of the most popular ways to attract clicks to your website or blog. The secret to drawing traffic is writing a great author's bio at the end of your article. This article will teach you how to write an article marketing author's bio that will draw clicks to your website.

Author's Bio Marketing - The Link Itself

The link itself is the meat of your author's bio. It is the thing that the article reader will click on. It is important to create a quality text link. The link should always be clickable using HTML coding. Readers will not copy and paste a URL.

The text of the link should not be the name of your website unless the name is already branded. If you do include the name of the website, also include a keyword rich blurb about it. For example: WebsiteName.com - Cheap Widgets. It is usually better to simply use the keyword phrase that your website targets.

Author's Bio Marketing - About You

Since these lines at the end of the article are called the author's bio, there should be something in there about you. Readers do not want to know your life history, however. Include one sentence about what you do or who you are.

Make sure the information about you also has to do with the theme of the article and your website. If it is a parenting site, it is good to state, "Mary is a mother of two." If it is an affiliate marketing site, leave that part out.

Author's Bio Marketing - What's In It For Them?

Tell your reader why they should click your link and visit your website. What's in it for them? Make it specific.

An example of a bad author's bio would include "Click this link for more information." An article reader can assume that the link will give them more information. That sentence is a waste of space.

A more positive example would be "Earn $5,000 each month with the help of..." and then include the clickable site link.

The more specific you are about the benefits of clicking the website link in the author's bio, the better. Taking into account the guidelines of good copywriting, include some of the action words such as free, secret, and guaranteed.

Writing a quality author's bio on your marketing articles is an important step in getting clicks to your website. Sparking the reader's interest, including only pertinent information, and making a descriptive, clickable link are the most important things.
