A Letter for All Business Needs

Shiva Velingker
Business letters are important for types of all business matters. This article will help you learn how to format one.

1. Type your address in WITHOUT your name. You can add the date directly under the address or Double enter and then insert the date.

2. Quadruple enter. Then insert the receiver's name/company along with their address.

3. Double Enter. This time put your greeting. If it is to a person, address them with a: Mr./Mrs./Dr./Ms. If you are unsure how to address the woman, use the Ms. If it is to a company, just address it to the company. Remember to put a colon after the address and to have the word, Dear, write before the receiver.

4. Double space again and start your paragraph. Paragraphs should NOT be indented. Also, the main idea of your writing of the letter is to be stated in the first paragraph. Double space between every paragraph that you need.

5. After you have finished your body, double space again. Insert your closing, Sincerely, then quadruple space.
6. Include your name and your job title (if any)

7. After finishing and printing your letter, write your signature in the quadruple space you made under "Sincerely."

8. Before you send your letter, make sure you have edited it and proofed it. Microsoft Word/ Spelling Check can help you with this, but they won't catch every mistake so make sure you revise it CAREFULLY.

Note/Tips:

- errors in your letter ruin the quality of your letter. Make sure you have revised it carefully for the highest quality.

-professional letters are also ruined in quality if you have not formatted them properly.

-this guide is set on manual mode, which means do NOT set your writing program (Microsoft, etc.) on double space

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing this letter to you to let you know about the problem you and others have created. By selling a massive amount of saltwater fish, particularly clownfish, you are harming the environment. To solve this problem, I am asking that you cut down the amount of clownfish, along with other fish you buy, in order to make the environment's beauty last longer.

First of all, clownfish and anemones have a mutual relationship. This means that they need each other to survive. The anemone is able to protect the clownfish from other harmful fish that would want to eat them with its stingers. In return, the clownfish chase off other fish that can eat the anemone. After the production of Finding Nemo, the demand for clownfish has increased significantly. The amount of clownfish in the wild, though, is decreasing quickly, leaving anemones unprotected. Just like they both need each other to survive, without one, the other dies. Slowly, after all wild clownfish are gone, anemones will disappear too. In the food chain when one organism is not present, all organisms are affected; the same goes for the "Sea Life Chain." This could eventually affect Earth as a whole and we won't be able to stop it then, but we can stop it now.

In order to solve this problem, saving what peril that could occur, you, as a company, must cut down on not only the amount of clownfish buy, but you must also cut down on every type of fish you buy. This could greatly help our environment.

Thanks a lot!

Sincerely,

Alberta Einstein
