IMPORTANT VALUES. Most students have values, but the values are often not given the priority they deserve. In your speech, don't preach to others about values. No one shares exactly the same values. Your fellow students need to know their values will change throughout their lives.
DON'T TALK ABOUT YOURSELF. The speech isn't about you. The importance of the speech is to give guidance to fellow students to en richen their futures. Just remember to limit yourself on speaking about yourself. Focus on the other fellow classmates.
THANK YOUS. This is your opportunity to thank those who have helped you and your fellow classmates throughout the years.Teachers and parents are the ideal people to give thanks to. Trust me it will be very appreciative.
BE APPROPRIATE. The language in the speech doesn't need to be racy. When writing the speech, do not use vulgar language and do not degrade anyone, especially yourself. The speech should focus on the graduation and upcoming future.
MAJOR EVENTS. A graduation speech speaks of the major events that have taken place and the ones that are to occur in the future. The future is an unpredictable journey. In this speech give remembrance to all the good and bad times shared together as classmates.
TELL STORIES. Fellow students will enjoy remembering all the terrific memories of their high school experience. Stay focused on the funny and positive stories. Do not dwell on the negativity from the past.
AVOID CLICHES. These specific groups who passed judgment upon others, do not need to be recognized. Beyond graduation, these so called "cliches" no longer exist.
ADVICE SPARINGLY. Young adults graduating are given advice on a daily basis. They do not need to given more advice, especially in a graduation speech. It is okay to give advice, but just do not over do it.
SHORT AND SWEET. The speech doesn't have to be long. The audience wants to get out of there quickly to begin the new chapters of their lives. Keep it short and simple.
QUOTES. Quotes help to give new meaning to a speech. It ties together the entire masterpiece. Just remember to use them sparingly.
And there you have it, ten tips to produce a beautiful masterpiece. The speech doesn't have to be perfect. The best tip to remember when writing, is to speak from the heart.

Post a CommentLol at the "Avoid Cliches" section. Lady, who are you to be giving writing advice when you don't know the difference between a 'clique' (which is the real meaning of definition you gave) and 'cliche' (which is an over-used figure of speech that should have been your definition.)
