If you have an upcoming anniversary then you probably have a lot of planning going on. Often times finding the perfect gift, cooking the perfect meal, or even saying the right thing is not the hardest part of your anniversary. Many people experience tremendous difficulty in writing a great anniversary card worthy of their special day. If you are having the same difficulty than you have come to the right place, read this article and learn how to write a great anniversary card.

A great place to start when trying to come up with the perfect anniversary card is with a template. Go with an anniversary card that already has a short message, this provides you with something to begin your letter with. Make sure that whatever the card says is relevant and preferably touches on something personal between you and your spouse. Whether it is humor or romance the text already present on an anniversary card can be a great lead-in to whatever you write.

The biggest thing to avoid is a simple anniversary card. If you cannot find a template which suits your taste then it is better to go with a blank card. The worst thing that you can do here is to elect to go with a card that says something simple such as "happy anniversary" and that's it. Either get something meaningful or start from scratch and make it very personal.

If you have found a great card in which either has a personal romantic message or something quite funny written in it then you should begin with a lead in from where the message led off. People have a habit of starting with what is already printed and then reading your personal message so the first sentence of your writing should tie into the last sentence of text from the template. Relate what the message said either to your spouse or to an experience that you've shared during your marriage. After this you should simply write something personal and meaningful, let your spouse know how lucky you are to be with them and how much you still love him or her.

If you opted to go with a blank card then you have a bit more room to work with here. This presents a few great opportunities for totally unique anniversary card. You can try writing a poem or a love song if you think you're up to it. If not you may want to try finding an old picture of when you first got together, making a copy of it and affixing it to one side of the card. This opens you up with a great prompt to write about a memory of old which is sure to spur great feelings within your spouse.

Hopefully after reading this you will have learned how to easily make a great anniversary for your spouse for your upcoming big day.
