How to Write Online Articles for Beginners

Make a Real Living as an Online Writer

Jacob Malewitz
So you want to make the big bucks. Keep reading, because in a few minutes I point out the basics of writing online articles that not only sell, but keep selling, get you exposure, get you experience, and of course make money online for you. Writing isn't easy; it's an art. Writing content for websites is a huge and needed market.

You will make money online if you toe the line between volume and quality. It's playing with fire writing 20 articles a day for pennies. It's dangerous to write one article in a day and try and sell it for $200, at least in the online world. See my point? Keep your volume as high as it can be until you start losing quality.

You will make the money. It's a fact. It just might not be enough to support you for a few months. If you rely on one market, and it falls through, you lose. This article goes into detail on not only selling articles, but finding the right markets and to always keep searching for new sites to publish.

But while there are plenty of markets for online work-and more coming every week-the basic "Work From Home Career" is an overused keyword, one used by many sites hoping to hire writers for pennies on the

What Do You Write?

Good question. It depends on what you are interested in ... what you have experience in ... how ambitious you are ... and how well you court rejection. You write what sells. Meaning: your paycheck rides on your subject. I've sold about a dozen articles on paid blogging via many online sites, and while I did make some good money doing it, I'm not the best writer. Why then, did some of these short articles fetch me $30-35? I just found the right market, got lucky, and took advantage. I still don't know all the mechanics of a blog.

But I capitalized on my experience to make earn a decent rate. You should, in the beginning, focus on experience and not payout. When you feel more experienced, start charging higher rates.

Online articles are about filling a need. And you don't have to be the most original of online writers, but with subjects, like the high-concept of a movie screenplay, you really need to know your work.

Can I Make a Living?

Yes. The average, focused freelance online writer can be making the rent and still getting groceries six months down the line. That seems to be the average. "I want to be an online writer ... fast!" It takes time. The markets change, and sometimes it gets slow, which makes it hard to get real writing assignments or sell articles for decent pay.

There is another side to this argument. There is as much of a need for content writers today as business writers, namely because many sites need constant streams of content. If you want to become a writer and get off the ground fast, writing online articles is one proven method to making online cash. It won't be a lot, but you can pay the bills with it, knowing the potential for high pay will grow.
