How to Write a Quality eBook About Cars

Melanie L. Marten
Writing a quality ebook about cars can be used online as an adjunct to an automotive website or for straight profit through sales. Determine the precise topic of the book you intend to write. An ebook about cars in general would be too broad. Focus on a particular make or model of car or a specific characteristic of cars. Choose a topic you know a lot about or would like to research.

Write a working title for the ebook and come up with titles or at least subjects for several chapters that are sub-topics of the main subject of the book. Each chapter should focus on a more specific fact about the subject, such as specifications, style, auto accessories, or problems the cars have. Troubleshooting car problems would be a helpful and important chapter to include.

Choose several sub-topics for each chapter. For example, if you intend to write a chapter in the ebook about cars covering options and accessories, you may include both decorative and practical items. Write down these ideas in a word processing file on your computer to help you organize your ebook writing process.

Research all necessary facts about the sub-topics. Cross-check facts and figures against several resources to guarantee their accuracy. Take notes in your word processing file or on paper. Be sure to jot down the reference you got each fact from so it can be properly credited.

Work on each chapter or section of each chapter individually. Take special care not to use any information that is invalid or potentially damaging to the specific car manufacturer you are writing about. Include personal thoughts and anecdotes to create a more interesting book. Even non-fiction books should be entertaining.

Complete the first draft of the ebook to include all information and opinions you want in the ebook. Save the file on the computer and leave it alone for one day to refresh your mind. Then go back and begin to edit.

Correct all spelling and grammar mistakes. Edit the paragraphs for clarity and entertainment value. Include references with facts and statistics you might have missed before. Format a bibliography at the end of the book as well as an index with topics and page numbers. Create a table of contents that gives page numbers for each chapter in the ebook. Remember to include rights information and instructions for the purchaser based on what they are allowed to do with the ebook. Save the ebook file in pdf format and prepare to distribute it as desired.

I've thought about writing an ebook...not on cars though. What I know about cars would not impress anyone! Good article.
