How to Write a Romantic Love Letter for Valentine's Day

In tough economic times like these everyone is looking to cut back. People are reverting to a simpler approach, back to basics. With Valentine's Day approaching the best way to extend this philosophy is by replacing expensive gifts with romantic love letters. Not only is it an incredibly romantic gesture that will be appreciated by your significant other, but it is also a warm and straight from the heart way to truly express your feelings to each other. The idea is simple but writing the letter itself is the hard part. Here are a few pointers to help you along the way:

1-Brainstorm:

Grab a note pad and write down a list of the qualities that attracted you to or that you love about your mate. Be specific about the things you list, make sure they truly describe him or her. Avoid writing general qualities, i.e. don't make it sound like it's a list you found on the internet or something. Summary: make your list of qualities personal and true.

2-Write from the heart:

Not all of us are blessed with the gift of writing. Don't try to find a love letter template and fill in the words, rather use your own style your partner will appreciate the effort. Tips for good writing include writing an outline so that your letter has structure and organization, don't go for fancy wording; write as if you were saying this out loud to your mate.

3-Make it memorable:

Although the letter by itself is a very beautiful gift, it is appropriate for the occasion to go over and above. Do your best into transforming the letter into a gift. Use textured paper for the letter; you could use cardboard, glitter, and heart stencils to craft a matching envelope. Instead of typing and printing the letter, make it personal by hand writing the letter with a fountain pen. Some people prefer to spritz the letter with a little fragrance and for the ladies you could seal the letter with a kiss.

From here you can pick up the rest. Focus on writing about what you really feel and don't worry about making it perfect. Let's not forget the true meaning of Valentine's Day it's not about the gifts, chocolates and flowers it's truly the thought that ultimately counts. Making a perfect Valentine's Day doesn't have to put a dent in your wallet because all you need is love!
